Our Brave Defenders
Join me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. --- 2 Timothy 2:3-4

Today is a calendar day of recognition for the men and women who valiantly serve to keep civilian families safe and protected from enemy attacks and wars against the United States. The Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, and Space Force are made up of over 1.4 million men and women who - in addition to their military service - are civilians with families just like you and me. With both confidence and fear - the risks they take and the sacrifices they make exemplify the endurance of their training and their commitment to their calling. The uniforms they wear and their service to this country and its people identify them as our frontline defenders on land, in and on the sea, in the air and in outer space. We admire them for all of this. But what we hold in highest esteem about our brave defenders is their immovable character of faith,  Like Jesus, their mission of salvation is for every living human being. Like Jesus,  they suffer for the cause and put other lives before their own. They do this so that we may enjoy freedom and privileges without the threats of danger...every day. We owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to our active and retired Armed Forces! Let’s pray for them daily and always welcome them with love and appreciation when they return home!
