Noble Warriors
Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. --- Romans 12:11-13
Doctors, nurses, and hospitals are in an unprecedented warzone. In order to help those who have the COVID-19 virus, this combat has put them in danger of losing their own lives while they work to save the lives of others. The influx of symptomatic and ill patients, the need for more medical personnel, supplies, and hospital beds have been a bombardment on medical teams as the virus quickly advanced. Yet without a go-to treatment or a cure for the illness, the risks of spreading the virus remains painstakingly high, and some of the doctors and nurses are working even as they, too, are ill with COVID-19. Like noble warriors - the courageous fortitude being demonstrated by these medical professionals comes from their abiding oath and unified faith in Jesus to work to save every life possible - because every life is valuable. The urgency of caring for ill patients has not stopped doctors and nurses from lining up to celebrate the victorious exit of patients who recover well enough to be released home from the hospital. It hasn't stopped them from comforting sick children and their parents, nor has it stopped them from comforting each other when - after doing all they can - they mourn the loss of patients who do not survive. To our doctors, nurses, and all medical support teams...may God bless you for your faithful stewardship in saving lives. We love you.
