Disappointment
Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. -- Psalms 42:11

Students of all ages around the world are dealing with the disappointment of not being able to attend their anticipated proms, high school/college graduations, etc., because of the impact of COVID-19. While this isn’t the most devastating thing that could have happened to them - it is a validated disappointment. Their opportunity to celebrate in a traditional way the accomplishments they've prepared and worked hard for over the course of years has been breached.  Family,  teachers, and friends share in their disappointment. For those who are experiencing these frustrating circumstances, your feelings are respected and embraced - especially by those of us who know what those earmark occasions meant for us when we were in school. May you be inspired and encouraged in knowing that all hope is not lost in your disappointments. While the dresses and corsages, suites and ties, dinner and dancing, graduation processions, shout outs,  tassel tosses, and gathering of family & friends did not make the spotlight- you still did! You are the manifestation of years of training and development that have prepared you to step into the next phase of life God has in store for you. And if God has aligned the next phase of your journey - you will not be disappointed! Yes, it is difficult to not feel down. But do not let your disappointment overshadow the fact that you have brought Glory to God through your perseverance and hard work. Hey - you are the real celebration! And the best for you is still yet to come!
