When You Look Out For Others

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. --Hebrews 6:10

A late-night storm went through the Carolinas. The following morning, 83-year-old Parrie observed from her kitchen window that the winds had blown her trash barrel to the farthest end of the backyard and strewn soggy papers across and between the fencing in a graffiti-like spectacle. Parrie was too grateful to worry about the mess, so she went on to prepare her breakfast. A few hours later, Parrie looked out her kitchen window, and she believed what she saw! The entire fence had been cleaned up! She smiled to herself, thanked the Lord for His goodness, and said a prayer for her neighbor whom she suspected was the good samaritan. How come Parrie was not surprised? Because she acceptingly takes God at His Word. She believes without any doubt that He watches her each time she helps others out of her love for Him. Like Parrie, we can be sure that when we look out for others we are looking out for God. God promises He will not forget. Surely, His blessings will come to us!
